Pam at Northgate’s OPSM is a proud local who has lived and worked in the area for many years. She always has an eye on the best way to help people, and she loves the spectacle of Christmas.
Pam enjoys it when the community comes together at Northgate events. “What I love is how during promotions, the community comes together, whether it is the children, the aged community or just everyone congregates to share the good times. I always love Christmas with the Elf on the Shelf.”
Pam has worked in Glenorchy and Moonah for 28 years and she loves meeting and helping the people. “Most are happy to share stories with you and it is easy to build relationships” she says. Her favourite thing about her job is the customers who come from all walks of life. “I also enjoy being able to help and care for their needs” she adds.
Before her career in optics, Pam cared for a young paraplegic woman for three years. “She taught me resilience, compassion and a greater sense of humour” she explains.
She is friends with many of the local shop-owners too and likes to drop in for a chat. Pam is a familiar face for many locals – she started working in Moonah, then became the Store Manager for Budget Eyewear at Northgate. She was at Eastlands for a while, and she has been back at Northgate for ten years.
Pam says she is just ‘an ordinary girl from Moonah’ and she dedicates her spare time to her 12 grandchildren – we think she should celebrate many years of helping and supporting locals!
